A level: A*A*A IB: 41-42 points, with 776 at Higher Level To apply to any of our Colleges for Economics, you will need an A level/IB Higher Level (or the equivalent) in: Mathematics If you’re studying IB, we ask for Analysis and Approaches for this course. If this isn’t an option at your school, please contact your shortlisted College(s) for advice.
About this course
BA (Hons) in Economics, an economics degree centred on the study of pure and applied economic theory and policy. Core topics include Statistics. Students gain access to extensive statistical databases and software through the Faculty of Economics. The first year covers foundational principles through compulsory modules such as Microeconomics, Macroeconomics, and Quantitative Methods in Economics. The second year advances analytical abilities with modules including Theory and Practice of Econometrics I, International Trade and Development, and Mathematics and Statistics for Economists. In the final year, students tackle advanced concepts through modules such as Microeconomic Principles and Problems, Macroeconomic Principles and Problems, and Political Economics. Optional study and further specialisation are supported by a range of advanced papers spanning areas like Banking and Finance, Public Economics, and The Economics of Developing Countries.
