About this course

BA (Hons) in Law, a law degree centred on legal systems, jurisprudence, and various branches of domestic and international jurisprudence. Students may apply to spend an intercalated year studying abroad at partner institutions in Germany, France, the Netherlands, Spain, New Zealand and Singapore after completing the second year. The first year covers core foundations through Civil Law in Context, Constitutional Law, Criminal Law, and Law of Tort. The second year introduces subjects such as Law of Contract, Land Law, Administrative Law, Advanced Civil Law, Criminal Procedure and Criminal Evidence, Criminology and Criminal Justice in Context, Family Law, Human Rights Law, International Law, Jurisprudence, and Legal History. The third year offers extensive module choices spanning Advanced Obligations, Commercial Law, Company Law, Competition Law, Conflict of Laws, Intellectual Property, Labour Law, Equity, European Union Law, Banking Law, Comparative Law, European Environmental and Sustainable Development Law, Landlord and Tenant Law, Law of Succession, Personal Data Protection Law, Topics in Legal and Political Philosophy, Topics in European Legal History, Animal Rights Law, Select Issues in Criminal Law and Criminal Justice, Family in Society, Law and Ethics in Medicine, Private Law, Public Law, and Select Issues in International Law.
