A level: A*A*A IB: 41-42 points, with 776 at Higher Level You can't apply to this course if you: will not be 18 years old on 1 November of year 1. This is due to national restrictions have failed or been excluded from another medical school We strongly recommend: that you get some work experience before you apply. About this course
MB and BChir in Medicine, a medicine degree centred on scientific principles underlying medical practice and clinical training. The curriculum spans six years, with the initial three years focusing on scientific foundations alongside a clinical strand and practical dissection work. Students who complete the first three years successfully graduate with a BA (Hons) degree before progressing to clinical studies. The course structure begins with scientific principles and includes Year 3 study options such as Year 3 Biological and Biomedical Sciences subject in Natural Sciences, Year 3 Natural Sciences subject, and A subject less related to Medicine, such as Anthropology, Management Studies, History of Medicine or Philosophy. The final three years apply this knowledge to medical practice through clinical placements based at the Cambridge Biomedical Campus, Cambridge University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust, and other regional hospitals and GP practices throughout the East of England. Clinical modules cover communication skills, patient investigation and practical procedures, therapeutics and patient management, core clinical science, pathology and diagnostic reasoning, evaluation and research, professionalism and patient safety, and improving health.
