BEng Mechanical Engineering (With Integrated Foundation Year)
About this course
BEng (Hons) Mechanical Engineering (With Integrated Foundation Year), a mechanical engineering degree incorporating an initial foundation year of preparatory study. Core topics include Circuit Design, Mathematical Modelling, Project Management, Engineering Design, and Artificial Intelligence & Machine Learning. The course features an integrated foundation year designed to build academic confidence before automatically progressing onto the main degree programme. The first year covers core subjects through Foundation Engineering Principles, Foundation Engineering Mathematics and Problem Solving, and Foundation Engineering Design. The second year introduces key concepts via Engineering Design, Mathematics and Computing, and Electromechanical Engineering. The third year advances into more complex studies with Applied Materials and Production Technologies, Robotic Engineering, and Solid Mechanics. The final year concludes with Advanced Manufacturing Systems, Advanced Instrumentation and Control, and an independent Integrated Engineering Project.
