Entry requirements
A level: AAA (Biology and Chemistry) IB: 37 points, including 6, 6, 6 at higher level with no retakes, to include biology and chemistry, plus three subjects at Standard level with average of Grade 6. Applicants are advised to supply previously certified grades from nationally recognised exams if their application is to be competitive. Higher / Advanced Higher, SQA (standard): AAAAB (Standard: Essential subjects: Higher - Biology (preferably Human Biology) and Chemistry National 5 - English and Mathematics at grade B Highers to be in the same sitting i.e. to be achieved in the same year We do not accept resits for this course Offers will be conditional, based on performance at interview and three Advanced Highers/Highers taken in 6th year, normally at BBB, to include Advanced Higher Biology or Chemistry Widening access: Essential subjects: Higher - Biology and Chemistry (at least one at grade A) Advanced Higher - Biology or Chemistry at grade B Maths and English at National 5 at grade B All to be achieved by the end of 6th year, with no minimum requirements by the end of 5th year. For those completing Highers over two years any subsequent offer will include compulsory attendance and successful completion of University of Dundee Access Summer School.).
About this course
BDS in Dentistry, a five-year undergraduate degree. The curriculum starts with the fundamental sciences that underpin dentistry and their clinical application. Students meet their first patients by the end of the first semester and begin simple clinical procedures in semester two. Practical study includes Thiel cadavers, alongside summer research internships, the Dental Wiki project, and an annual Discovery Week.
