About this course

BA (Hons) in Business and Management, a degree examining how organisations operate, compete and grow. Core topics include Statistics, Research Methods, Marketing, Critical & Analytical Thinking, Entrepreneurship, and Artificial Intelligence & Machine Learning. In the final year students choose one of three 40-credit project modules: a dissertation, a new venture creation project, or an investigation into organisational behaviour and leadership. The course can be completed in three years, with an optional placement year or a year abroad available. The first year builds foundations through The Changing World of Business, People, Management and Organisations, Foundations of Effective Marketing, and Financial Information in Business, covering organisational context, people and leadership, marketing principles, and financial reporting. The second year examines research practice and technology through Business Research Methods and Statistics, Information Systems and Innovation Management. Optional modules have included Human Resource Management, Operations Management, Managing Marketing Communications, Entrepreneurship and Consumer Behaviour. Later options span topics such as Business Analytics for Artificial Intelligence, International Marketing, Corporate Responsibility and Sustainability, Leadership, and People Analytics. The final year centres on the compulsory choice between the Dissertation in Business and Management, the New Venture Creation Project, and the Organisational Behaviour and Leadership Project.
