Entry requirements

A level: A*AA including Mathematics. You do not need to have studied Economics at A-Level to apply for this programme. IB: 37 with 766 in higher level subjects, including Mathematics. If you are not taking Mathematics at higher level, we can accept standard level Mathematics at grade 7.

About this course

BSc (Hons) Economics with Management (with study abroad), an economics degree combining economic theory with management studies. Core topics include Programming, Data Analysis, Statistics, Mathematical Modelling, Research Methods, Critical & Analytical Thinking, and Entrepreneurship. The third year is spent abroad at a partner university, and a final-year dissertation allows students to research a specific area of economics in depth. The first year builds foundations through Principles of Economics, Economic Methods, Managing Behaviour and Organisations, Introduction to Leadership, Global Economic History, and Mastering Data and Computation. The second year covers Macroeconomics, Microeconomics, Econometrics, Innovation Management, and Operations Management, with optional modules that have included Behavioural and Experimental Economics, Intermediate Methods for Economics, Political Economy, and Microeconomic Applications and Policy. Year 3 is spent studying abroad at a partner university, before the final year, where the compulsory modules are the Dissertation and Corporate Entrepreneurship. Final-year optional modules span areas such as Advanced Macroeconomic Theory, Advanced Microeconomic Theory, Applied Econometrics, Developmental Economics, Environmental Economics and Policy, International Economics, Monetary Economics, Labour Economics, Game Theory and Applications, Asia and the Pacific Rim, Leadership, and Corporate Responsibility and Sustainability.
