About this course
BSc (Hons) in Chemical Physics, a physics degree bridging chemistry and physics. Core topics include Programming, Data Analysis, Statistics, Mathematical Modelling, and Laboratory Techniques. Students complete an individual research project in their final year. The first year covers introductory chemistry alongside physics and mathematics courses. The second year focuses on core subjects through Physics of Fields and Matter, Dynamics and Vector Calculus, Linear Algebra and Several Variable Calculus, and Modern Physics, alongside Chemistry for Chemical Physics 2, and a choice between Programming and Data Analysis or Experimental Physics 2. The third year advances into Fourier Analysis, Statistical Mechanics, Electromagnetism, and Quantum Mechanics, with a choice between Computer Modelling or Experimental Physics 3.
