About this course
MA (Hons) in Classical Archaeology and Ancient History, a classics degree examining the history and material culture of ancient Greece, Rome and neighbouring civilisations. Core topics include Fieldwork. Students must complete three weeks of fieldwork or museum work between the first and second years. The first year introduces the history and culture of the Greek and Roman worlds alongside a dedicated course on archaeological fieldwork. The second year focuses on ancient history and courses examining Greek and Roman art and archaeology. The third year advances into two or three ancient history honours courses, two or three classical art and archaeology courses, and one course from another area of Classics. The final fourth year concludes with two ancient history honours courses and two classical art and archaeology honours courses.
