About this course

MEng (Hons) in Electronics and Electrical Engineering, an electrical and electronic engineering degree focused on hardware systems and technological infrastructure. Core topics include Programming, Systems Design, Circuit Design, Computer Architecture, Signal Processing, and Microelectronics. The programme is delivered across three specialised streams covering electronics, information sciences, and power. The first year covers foundational concepts through problem-solving skills, teamwork, advanced thinking, confidence, technical topics in engineering, and mathematics. The second year introduces analogue circuits, digital system design, microelectronics, power engineering, and signal processing. The third year builds expertise with electromagnetics and photonics, control and instrumentation engineering, microelectronics and digital systems design, analogue mixed-signal labs, embedded software, electrical machines, and control and instrumentation engineering. The fourth year advances into analogue electronics, bioelectronics, digital electronics, power engineering, Radio-frequency engineering, signals and communications, and software, data analysis and machine learning. The final year concludes with advanced coding techniques, practical skills, and modelling and simulation skills.
