About this course
BA (Hons) in Film and Television, a photography degree focused on practical filmmaking and screen-based media. Students undertake short film exercises, masterclasses, and workshops while collaborating across year groups on creative productions. The course includes options to study abroad or complete a self-initiated work placement. The first year introduces practical filmmaking environments through creative film exercises, masterclasses, workshops, and Design and Screen Cultures. The second year provides technical training in camera, lighting, sound, and editing, alongside modules such as Design and Screen Cultures. The third year involves advanced short film projects, working with actors, and a further Design and Screen Cultures course. The final year centres on the development and presentation of a film project supported by workshops, tutorials, and research within the wider moving image landscape.
