About this course
MA (Hons) in French and Classics, a joint honours degree in French and Francophone Studies and Classics. The programme incorporates a full academic year abroad spent studying or working in one or two destinations. The first year covers resistance and collaboration, the Fifth Republic, colonisation and decolonisation, May 1968, feminism, the history and culture of the Greek and Roman worlds, ancient Greek language, and Latin language. Second-year study includes ancient history, classical art and archaeology, classical literature in translation, Cultural Responses to War, Migration, Exile, Diaspora, and Crime and Detection in Literature. The third year involves studying abroad, working abroad, or completing a combination of study and work across one or two destinations.
