About this course
MA (Hons) in French and Russian Studies, a French and Francophone Studies and Russian Studies degree centred on the study of two European languages and global cultural contexts. Students complete an academic year abroad as part of the four-year honours programme. The first year covers resistance and collaboration, the Fifth Republic, colonisation and decolonisation, and linguistics and language sciences. The second year features Transnational Russian Culture, The Golden Age of Russian Literature, Utopia and Dystopia in 20th-century Russian Literature, and the Politics and Institutions of Contemporary France. Year 3 involves pastoral support services. The final year focuses on film, literature, history, and politics.
