About this course

MA (Hons) in Islamic Studies, a Hebrew and Jewish Studies degree centred on the religious, historical and cultural dimensions of the Islamic world. Students learn elementary Arabic with options to study Persian or Turkish. The first year covers Islamic History and Modern Middle Eastern History alongside broader subject options. The second year explores the religion of Islam and Islamic and Middle Eastern Cultures, with continued language study and further historical courses. The third year offers further study in history, politics, social policy, social anthropology and international relations, religion, and history of art and cultural studies.
