About this course
MMath (Hons) in Mathematics, a mathematics degree centred on advanced mathematical concepts and problem-solving. Core topics include Programming, Data Analysis, Statistics, Mathematical Modelling, Research Methods, Communication & Writing, and Entrepreneurship. Students can switch between the BSc and MMath routes until the fourth year. The first year introduces foundational material through Introduction to Mathematical Analysis, Linear Algebra 1, and Introduction to Data Science, alongside extra preparation in Fundamentals of Algebra and Calculus. The second year progresses with Linear Algebra 2, Elementary Probability and Statistics, Further Analysis and Several Variable Calculus, and Modelling and Computing. Year 3 involves advanced study across areas such as Topology, Operational Research, Financial Mathematics, and Numerical Analysis. The final year centres on a research project alongside specialized courses including Stochastic Modelling, General Topology, and Entrepreneurship in the Mathematical Sciences.
