About this course

MChem in Medicinal and Biological Chemistry, a biochemistry and chemistry degree focusing on biological mechanisms and processes at the molecular level. Students undertake a final-year research project, which can be completed within an internal research group, at an overseas partner university, or through a paid industrial placement. The first year delivers fundamental chemistry lectures, laboratory classes housed in the Nucleus building, and staff tutorials. The second year progresses to Biological Chemistry 2 and Chemical Pharmacology 2. In the final year, students complete a research project.
