About this course
An undergraduate Nursing Studies BN (Hons), a nursing studies degree grounded in healthcare theory and practice. The degree is structured with an equal weighting of theory and practice to meet Nursing and Midwifery Council (NMC) standards, incorporating placements in community and inpatient settings. Upon graduation, students meeting the necessary requirements are eligible for registration with the Nursing and Midwifery Council (NMC) as an adult nurse. The first year covers foundational content through modules such as anatomy, physiology and life science, nursing care, and sociological and psychological aspects of healthcare alongside academic skills development. The second year progresses to study areas including technical innovations in healthcare, mental health, and approaches to research alongside further work in anatomy, physiology and life science, and nursing care.
