About this course

BSc (Hons) in Pharmacology, a pharmacology and biological sciences degree examining how drugs interact with living systems and how new treatments are developed. The programme begins with foundations in biomedical sciences, medical biology, and molecular and cellular biology in the first year. The second year continues with Biomedical Sciences 2, Microorganisms, Infection & Immunity 2, and Cells to Organisms 2. Students then progress to study Biomedical Sciences 3 and Pharmacology 3 in the third year. The final fourth year covers Drugs, Receptors and Therapeutics alongside independent original, laboratory-based research or data/literature analysis-based research. Students can choose from specialisms including anatomy and development, biomedical sciences, reproductive biology, neuroscience, and infectious diseases.
