About this course
MA (Hons) in Philosophy and Economics, an economics and philosophy degree exploring theoretical inquiry and social science systems. Core topics include Statistics and Research Methods. The course culminates in a final-year independent dissertation on a philosophy or economics topic of your choice. The first year covers the foundations through morality and value, history of philosophy (Western and non-Western traditions), logic, and philosophy of science. The second year progresses with epistemology, metaphysics, philosophy of language, philosophy of mind, Economics 2A (20 credits), Economics 2B (20 credits), and Statistical Methods for Economics. The third year involves beauty and art, language, cognition and science, history of philosophy, knowledge and reality, morality and value, political philosophy, Essentials of Econometrics, and Topics in Microeconomics. The final year focuses on an independent dissertation on a philosophy or economics topic of your choice alongside a coursework dissertation through two extended essays in philosophy.
