About this course

MA (Hons) in Politics with Quantitative Methods, a mathematics and statistics and politics and international relations degree focused on governance, political theory, and data analysis. Core topics include Statistics. One quarter of study time is dedicated to quantitative methods and data application. The first year covers fundamental concepts through Politics and International Relations 1A: Concepts and Debates, Politics and International Relations 1B: The Global Dimension, Political Thinkers, an introductory political theory course, Mathematics for Social Science, and Introduction to Statistics for Social Science. The second year builds research abilities through Comparative Politics in a Globalised World and Doing Social Research with Statistics. The third year offers diverse options including international political economy, global security, human rights, gender theory, African politics, the Middle East, the media and democracy, technology and politics, nationalism, and advanced statistical methods.
