About this course

MA (Hons) in Psychology and Economics, a psychology and economics degree centred on the scientific study of the mind, brain, behaviour, and economic systems. Core topics include Programming, Data Analysis, Statistics, Research Methods, and Communication & Writing. This joint programme spans four years and incorporates both laboratory-based research and econometric analysis. The first year covers foundational concepts through cognitive psychology, developmental psychology, differential psychology, biological psychology, and social psychology alongside an introduction to R programming and research methods. The second year continues with research methods, statistics, R programming, cognitive psychology, developmental psychology, differential psychology, biological psychology, and social psychology alongside scientific literature review and report writing. The third year advances these studies through advanced statistical analysis using R programming, qualitative methods, Essentials of Econometrics, and Topics in Microeconomics. The final year allows students to choose from options such as Social Psychology of Groups, Emotions: Social and Neuroscience Perspectives, Big Data and Psychological Science, The Psychology of Conversation, Developmental Psychopathology, Development Economics, International Economics, and The Economics of Cities and Regions.
