About this course
BSc (Hons) in Sport Management, a sport and exercise science degree centred on business, operational and strategic approaches to the sports industry. Core topics include Research Methods, Communication & Writing. Students complete a professional placement as part of the curriculum. The first year covers the foundations through The Sport Industry, Sport Marketing and Sponsorship, Sport History, and Sport and Society. The second year focuses on operational aspects with Sport Operations Management, Events Management, Research Methods, and Professional Placement. The third year builds advanced knowledge through Sports Development, Sport and Communication, Strategic Sport Management, and Critical Sociological Critiques of Sport. The fourth year concludes the programme with Sport Industry in a Global Context, Sport, Media and Ideology, Contemporary Issues in Sport Management, and Sport and Social Enterprise.
