About this course
BA in History and Politics, a politics and international relations and history degree centred on historical and political analysis. Core topics include Research Methods, Project Management, Accounting, Historical Research, Critical & Analytical Thinking, and Artificial Intelligence & Machine Learning. The course is taught on the Penryn campus in Cornwall. The first year covers the foundations through New Approaches to History, Global History: Twentieth Century Transformations, Political Communication, and Generative AI and Sustainable Futures: Ethics, Society, and Scholarship, alongside optional choices such as Public History or British Government and Politics. The second year focuses on advanced concepts through compulsory modules including The Practice of History, Introduction to Postcolonialism, and Political Analysis. Optional modules in the second and third years allow specialisation in areas such as American Politics, Security Studies, and the Politics of the Middle East.
