About this course
BA in History (Cornwall), a history degree centred on the analysis of past societies, political systems, and cultural developments. Core topics include Research Methods, Project Management, Accounting, Historical Research, Critical & Analytical Thinking, Artificial Intelligence & Machine Learning, and Design & Creative Practice. Students study at an eco campus near Falmouth in Cornwall and complete local work placements with museums, galleries, libraries, schools, and heritage organisations. The first year covers foundational concepts through compulsory modules such as Historical Sources and Skills: Microhistory and History from Below, New Approaches to History, European History: Politics and Society, and Global History: Twentieth Century Transformations, alongside options including Public History. The second year focuses on methodological preparation for the final-year dissertation through compulsory study in The Practice of History.
