About this course
BA in Media and Communications, a film studies degree examining media narratives, industry frameworks, and digital technologies. Core topics include Research Methods, Project Management, Critical & Analytical Thinking, Artificial Intelligence & Machine Learning, Design & Creative Practice, and Global & Comparative Perspective. The course includes a compulsory workplace module requiring at least 40 hours of work placements. The first year covers core foundations through Perspectives on Communications, Communications Challenges, Communications Research Methods, and Social Media and Society. In the second year, students undertake Communications in the Workplace alongside optional modules such as Professional Writing, Internet Foundations and Frontiers, Design Thinking, Communications and the Climate Crisis, Communications in the 21st Century, Media and the Law: Regulation, Governance, Ethics, Media Production, and Politics and the Media.
