About this course

BA in Modern Languages and Arabic, a modern languages degree centred on Arabic combined with French, German, Italian, Russian or Spanish within Hebrew and Jewish Studies and Modern Languages. Core topics include Language & Translation, Historical Research, Research Methods, Critical & Analytical Thinking, and Global & Comparative Perspective. Students can also choose from optional modules exploring historical, cultural, and religious themes. The second year continues with intermediate and advanced compulsory language training including Intermediate Arabic Language II, French Language, Written and Oral, German Language, Written and Oral, Italian Language, Written and Oral, Contemporary Russian Written and Oral I, and Spanish Language, Written and Oral. Optional modules allow further specialisation in areas such as regional history, literature, cinema, and cultural studies.
