About this course
BA in Philosophy, a philosophy degree centred on the critical analysis of classical and contemporary philosophical thought. Core topics include Research Methods and Artificial Intelligence & Machine Learning. The curriculum covers foundational studies in epistemology, ethics, and metaphysics across three years of undergraduate study. The first year covers the foundations through Knowledge and Reality 1, Knowledge and Reality 2, Evidence and Argument 1, Introduction to Philosophical Analysis, and Philosophy of Morality, with optional choices such as Introduction to Asian Philosophy and Philosophy of Film. The second year progresses through Philosophy of Mind 1, Body and Mind, Metaphysics, Philosophy of Language, Philosophical Research, and Moral Agency in Social Context. Optional modules in later stages allow students to explore topics such as Phenomenology, Existentialism, Symbolic Logic, and Philosophy of Science.
