BA Politics and Modern Languages
About this course
BA in Politics and Modern Languages, a politics degree and modern languages degree centred on political science and cultural studies. Core topics include Data Analysis, Research Methods, Policy Analysis, Historical Research, Critical & Analytical Thinking, Language & Translation, Artificial Intelligence & Machine Learning, and Global & Comparative Perspective. Students have the option to complete a third year studying or working abroad in a country relevant to their chosen language. The first year covers language foundations and introductory concepts through modules such as French Language, German Language, Italian Language, and Contemporary Russian Written and Oral. The second year continues language development with compulsory modules including French Language, Written and Oral, German Language, Written and Oral, Italian Language, Written and Oral, and Contemporary Russian Written and Oral I. Optional modules span various political and cultural topics, allowing specialisation in areas such as political thought, international relations, comparative government, public policy, and specific regional histories or philosophies.
