About this course
BEng in Renewable Energy Engineering, a chemical engineering degree centred on sustainable power systems and clean energy technologies. Core topics include Programming, Systems Design, Microelectronics, Data Analysis, Statistics, and Mathematical Modelling. The curriculum is taught on the Penryn campus in Cornwall and incorporates dedicated workshop and laboratory spaces for individual and group practical work. The first year establishes fundamental engineering principles through modules such as Engineering Mathematics and Scientific Computing, Multi-Disciplinary Group Challenge Project, Fundamentals of Mechanics, Fundamentals of Materials, Fundamentals of Electronics, and Fundamentals of Engineering. The second year advances technical knowledge via Data, Signals and Systems, Electrical Energy Conversion and Transport, Applied Thermodynamics, Renewable Energy Systems 1, Energy Policy, Markets and Law, Energy Management and Building Systems, Fluid Mechanics, and Discipline Group Challenge Project.
