About this course

BEng in Systems Engineering, a chemical engineering degree centred on the design, integration and management of complex systems. Core topics include Programming, Systems Design, Microelectronics, Data Analysis, Statistics, Mathematical Modelling, and Project Management. The course features hands-on projects in every year and includes an optional work placement. The first year covers core engineering principles through Engineering Mathematics and Scientific Computing, Multi-Disciplinary Group Challenge Project, Fundamentals of Mechanics, Fundamentals of Materials, Fundamentals of Electronics, and Fundamentals of Engineering. The second year progresses to specialist topics via Data, Signals and Systems, Electrical Energy Conversion and Transport, Applied Thermodynamics, Renewable Energy Systems 1, Engineering Systems, Energy Management and Building Systems, Fluid Mechanics, and Discipline Group Challenge Project.
