About this course
BSc in Artificial Intelligence (Defence), an artificial intelligence (defence) degree centred on computational systems and technical applications. Core topics include Programming, Computer Architecture, Data Analysis, Statistics, Mathematical Modelling, Project Management, and Artificial Intelligence & Machine Learning. Students gain practical experience through industry projects, hackathons, and placement opportunities. The first year establishes core computing foundations through modules such as Programming, Data Structures and Algorithms, and Discrete Mathematics for Computer Science alongside study of the UK defence sector. The second year advances technical capabilities with compulsory modules including Machine Learning and Data Science, Team Project, and Database Theory and Design. Students can select from optional modules such as Computational Intelligence, Programming for Prompt Engineering, and Data Science in Society to tailor their studies.
