About this course
BSc in Economics and Politics, an economics and politics and international relations degree examining the intersection of economic systems and political governance. Core topics include Data Analysis, Statistics, Research Methods, Accounting, Policy Analysis, Critical & Analytical Thinking, Entrepreneurship, and Artificial Intelligence & Machine Learning. The programme requires no prior subject knowledge and includes introductory training in economics, politics, and statistical analysis. The first year establishes core foundations through compulsory modules such as Statistics for Business and Management, Economic Principles, History of Economic Thought, Introduction to Comparative Politics, Global Sustainability Policy and Governance, Mathematics for Economists, Economics I, Economics II, and Basic Quantitative Methods. The second year advances core knowledge through Intermediate Microeconomics, Intermediate Macroeconomics, The Politics of the World Economy, and The Economics of Politics. Optional modules allow students to explore diverse subjects spanning political theory, international relations, business, and artificial intelligence. Students can tailor their studies by choosing from various module options across both disciplines. In the final year, participants can further specialise by selecting specific final examination options or by completing a dissertation project.
