About this course
BSc in Mathematics, a mathematics degree centred on analytical techniques, abstract structures, and quantitative problem-solving. Core topics include Programming, Data Analysis, Statistics, Mathematical Modelling, and Artificial Intelligence & Machine Learning. Students can choose to extend their degree by undertaking a year in industry at corporate and scientific organisations. The first year establishes foundational concepts through compulsory modules including Foundations, Mathematical Structures, Mathematical Methods, Mathematical Modelling, and Probability, Statistics and Data. In later years, students select from a broad range of optional topics covering theoretical and applied areas, with examples such as Differential Equations, Vector Calculus and Applications, Real Analysis, Complex Analysis, Groups, Rings and Fields, Linear Algebra, Statistical Modelling and Inference, Numerical Modelling, and Mathematics of Machine Learning and AI.
