About this course
BSc in Physics, a physics degree rooted in both applied and theoretical study. Core topics include Programming, Data Analysis, and Mathematical Modelling. Students can optionally undertake a salaried research placement at external organisations. The first year covers foundational concepts through Physics of Everyday Life, Mathematics Skills, Computational Data Analysis, and Experimental Physics. The second year progresses to advanced topics via From Fields to Quanta, Mathematics for Physicists, Experimental Physics II, and Employability and Skills Development II. Optional modules in the second year include Scientific Programming in C, The Physics of Living Systems, Analytical and Chaotic Dynamics, Observing the Universe, From Atoms to Images with Nonlinear Optics, and Physics of Climate Change.
