About this course
BSc in Physics with Astrophysics, a physics degree examining physical theory alongside observational and theoretical astrophysics. Core topics include Programming, Data Analysis, Mathematical Modelling. Research projects utilise data gathered from ground and space-based facilities alongside computational codes. The first year establishes core foundations through compulsory study in Physics of Everyday Life, Mathematics Skills, Computational Data Analysis, Experimental Physics, and Employability and Professional Skills Development. The second year advances core knowledge via Observing the Universe, From Fields to Quanta, Mathematics for Physicists, Experimental Physics II, and Employability and Skills Development II. Students can also select from optional modules in this year including Scientific Programming in C, The Physics of Living Systems, and Analytical and Chaotic Dynamics.
