MEng in Biomedical Engineering, an engineering degree focused on healthcare technology and the design of medical solutions. Core topics include Programming, Circuit Design, Computer Architecture, Embedded Systems, Signal Processing, Microelectronics, Statistics, Mathematical Modelling, Project Management, Engineering Design, Critical & Analytical Thinking, and Artificial Intelligence & Machine Learning. The four-year course includes an integrated Masters year featuring an investigative report. The first year covers foundations through Engineering Mathematics and Scientific Computing, Multi-Disciplinary Group Challenge Project, Fundamentals of Mechanics, Fundamentals of Materials, Fundamentals of Electronics, and Fundamentals of Engineering. The second year introduces Introduction to Fluid Dynamics, Microcontroller Engineering, Modelling of Engineering Systems, Solid Mechanics, Biomedical Engineering Challenge Projects, Thermodynamics and Heat Transfer, and The Physics of Living Systems. The third year includes Digital Signal Processing, Individual Project, Mechatronics, Finite Element Analysis for High Value Manufacturing, Biomaterials and Tissue Engineering, and The Biophysics of Cells and Tissues, alongside optional modules covering Materials, Decision Making Systems and Decision Theory, Engineering Electromagnetics, Fluid Dynamics and CFD, Management and Leadership, and Quality Control and Improvement.
