About this course

MEng in Electrical and Electronic Engineering, an electrical and electronic engineering degree focused on the design and application of modern electronic and electrical systems. Core topics include Programming, Circuit Design, Computer Architecture, Embedded Systems, Signal Processing, Microelectronics, Control Systems, Statistics, and Mathematical Modelling. The course spans four years and incorporates practical project work alongside academic study. The first year covers foundations through Engineering Mathematics and Scientific Computing, Fundamentals of Mechanics, Fundamentals of Materials, and Fundamentals of Electronics. The second year introduces core topics via Electronic Engineering Challenge Project, Microcontroller Engineering, Modelling of Engineering Systems, and Analogue and Digital Electronics Design. Year three advances into specialised study with Communications Engineering, Engineering Electromagnetics, Electric Machines and Power Electronics, and Power Systems Analysis, alongside optional modules such as Digital Signal Processing, Mechatronics, Quality Control and Improvement, Control Engineering, and Zero Emission Vehicles.
