MEng Engineering
About this course
MEng in Engineering, an engineering degree exploring multi-disciplinary practices and emerging technologies. Core topics include Programming, Circuit Design, Computer Architecture, Statistics, Mathematical Modelling, and Critical & Analytical Thinking. Students choose a specialism in the second year following an initial broad foundation. The first year covers foundational principles through compulsory modules including Engineering Mathematics and Scientific Computing, Multi-Disciplinary Group Challenge Project, Fundamentals of Mechanics, Fundamentals of Materials, Fundamentals of Electronics, and Fundamentals of Engineering. The mathematics module introduces modern methods alongside programming, while the electronics module covers analogue and digital electronic systems. Additional core modules examine classical mechanics, fracture mechanics, and additive manufacturing processes. The curriculum combines theoretical concepts with practical group challenges addressing environmental issues. Students progress through subsequent years to develop advanced technical expertise in their chosen engineering discipline.
