About this course
MEng in Engineering and Entrepreneurship, an engineering degree centred on mechanical and electronic engineering principles combined with business practices. Core topics include Programming, Circuit Design, Computer Architecture, Data Analysis, Statistics, Mathematical Modelling, Marketing, Engineering Design, Critical & Analytical Thinking, Entrepreneurship, Artificial Intelligence & Machine Learning, and Design & Creative Practice. Students pitch an engineering idea to a panel at the end of the third year for the chance to receive financial backing to start a business. The first year covers the foundations through Engineering Mathematics and Scientific Computing, Multi-Disciplinary Group Challenge Project, Fundamentals of Mechanics, and Fundamentals of Electronics. The second year progresses with Leadership and Management: Fundamentals of Practice, Making Innovation and Entrepreneurship Happen, Entrepreneurship 2, and Modelling of Engineering Systems. The third year involves Rethinking Innovation and Entrepreneurship, Operations Management, Decision Making Systems and Decision Theory, and Entrepreneurship and Management Design and Build: Part 1 – Research.
