About this course
MEng in Robotics and Artificial Intelligence, an engineering degree centered on autonomous systems, machine learning, and intelligent robotics. Core topics include Programming, Circuit Design, Computer Architecture, Embedded Systems, Signal Processing, Microelectronics, Control Systems, Statistics, Mathematical Modelling, Project Management, Critical & Analytical Thinking, Artificial Intelligence & Machine Learning, and Global & Comparative Perspective. In the final year of the MEng course, students complete an investigative project and study advanced topics. The first year builds foundations through Engineering Mathematics and Scientific Computing, Multi-Disciplinary Group Challenge Project, Fundamentals of Mechanics, Fundamentals of Materials, Fundamentals of Electronics, and Fundamentals of Engineering. The second year progresses with Microcontroller Engineering, Modelling of Engineering Systems, Communication and Networking Technologies, Analogue and Digital Electronics Design, Python and ROS for Robotics, Robotics and AI Challenge Project, and Control Engineering. Year three includes Communications Engineering, Mechatronics, Distributed Algorithms for Robotics, Machine Learning and AI, Robotics and AI Group Project, and Optimisation Methods. Students can also choose from optional modules such as Digital Signal Processing, Zero Emission Vehicles, and Energy, Materials and Sustainability.
