About this course
MSci in Applied Psychology (Clinical), a psychology and psychology with neuropsychology degree centred on clinical practice and empirical research methods. Core topics include Data Analysis, Statistics, Research Methods, Clinical Skills, Communication & Writing, Critical & Analytical Thinking, and Human Behaviour. This BPS-accredited programme includes a clinical placement that allows students to build clinical hours towards registration as a Psychological Wellbeing Practitioner. The first year introduces the academic foundations through modules such as Introduction to Biological Psychology, Introduction to Social Psychology, Introduction to Clinical Psychology, and Introduction to Statistics. The second year expands into specialized areas with modules like Social Psychology II, Personality and Individual Differences, Methods and Statistics in Psychology II, and Development Psychology and Psychopathology. The third year builds toward advanced competencies through modules including Psychology Research Project, Methods and Statistics in Psychology III, and Contemporary Issues in Psychology. Students can select optional modules spanning diverse topics such as Psychology and Law, The Psychology of Gender, Work and Organisational Psychology, and Cognitive and Behavioural Therapy: Theory and Practice. The curriculum culminates in an independent research project.
