About this course

MSci in Mathematics with Economics, an integrated master's degree in mathematics and economics. Core topics include Programming, Data Analysis, Statistics, Mathematical Modelling, and Artificial Intelligence & Machine Learning. Jointly delivered by the mathematics department and the business school, the programme includes an option to complete a year in industry placement and features a supervised research-led project in the final year. The first year establishes core competencies through compulsory modules such as Economics I, Foundations, Mathematical Methods, and Probability, Statistics and Data. The second year advances quantitative study with modules including Microeconomics II and Differential Equations, alongside optional subjects like Vector Calculus and Applications and Mathematics of Machine Learning and AI. In subsequent years, students can tailor their studies through numerous advanced options spanning finance, economic theory, and specialized mathematics, alongside the Commercial and Industrial Experience module and the Research in Mathematical Sciences module.
