About this course

BEng/MEng in Aerospace Systems, an aerospace engineering degree focused on the onboard systems of aircraft and spacecraft. Core topics include Programming, Systems Design, Computer Architecture, Microelectronics, and Entrepreneurship. Students participate in practical laboratories and undertake a flight-testing course in a Saab 340B aircraft in the fifth year of the MEng. The first year introduces fundamental principles through modules such as Aerospace Engineering 1, Analogue Electronics 1, Engineering Skills 1, and Materials 1. The second year develops core competencies through Aerospace Design Project 2, Embedded Processors 2, Engineering Electromagnetics 2, and Aerodynamics & Aircraft Performance 2. The third year builds advanced knowledge via Advanced Programming and Software Engineering 3, Aerospace Team Design Project 3, Communication Systems 3, and Control 3. The fourth year incorporates Aerospace Systems Design Project 4, Control 4, Individual Project 4, and Business Planning and Management for Engineers. The fifth year concludes with Advanced Control 5, Aircraft Development 5, and Individual Project 5.
