About this course
BSc/MSci in Anatomy, a cellular molecular degree exploring the structure and function of the human body. Core topics include Research Methods. The course includes practical dissection work and digital technologies, concluding with a final-year investigative or research project. The first year covers introductory biological sciences and chemistry through modules such as Biology 1A, Biology 1B, Chemistry 1, and Science Fundamentals-1X. The second year examines human biological sciences, genetics, and ecology via Core Concepts in Human Biological Sciences 2, Investigating Human Biological Sciences 2, Fundamental Topics in Biology 2, and Animal Biology, Evolution and Ecology 2. The third year advances into specialised study through Anatomy 3A and Anatomy 3B with COIL. The final year involves core advanced training via Core Skills for Modern Anatomists 4X core, alongside optional study in areas such as Clinical Applied Anatomy (Sem 2) 4D option, Problems in Human Reproduction 4B option, Applied GenAI and Data-Informed Practice in Anatomical Imaging 4C option, Forensic Osteology 4Y option, and Diverse Anatomy 4Y option, alongside a choice of Life Sciences Investigative Honours Project, Life Sciences Outreach Honours Project, Life Sciences Dissertation Honours Project, or Life Sciences Internship Honours Project.
