About this course

BSc/MSci in Chemical Physics, a physics degree bridging chemistry and physics to study atoms, molecules and matter interactions. Core topics include Mathematical Modelling. The fourth year concludes with a chemistry project. The first year introduces foundational material through Chemistry 1, Physics 1 and Mathematics 1. The second year expands the curriculum with Chemistry 2X, Chemistry 2Y, Physics 2, Mathematics 2A: Multivariable Calculus and Mathematics 2B: Linear Algebra. The third year moves into advanced study via Mathematical Methods 1, Waves & Diffraction, Quantum Mechanics, Thermal Physics, Honours Physics Laboratory, Inorganic Chemistry 3 (Half) and Physical Chemistry 3. The final year involves specialised study through Electromagnetic Theory 1, Solid State Physics, Atomic Systems, Physical Chemistry 4H, Inorganic Chemistry 4H (Half), Chemistry Special Topics 4H Half and Chemistry Project 4H.
