About this course

BSc/MSci in Human Biology & Physiology, a human biology degree centred on the study of the human body across the lifespan, health, and disease. Core topics include Statistics and Research Methods. The course integrates theoretical concepts with practical laboratory classes, culminating in a final-year investigative or outreach project. The first year introduces foundational concepts through Biology 1A, Biology 1B, Chemistry 1, and Science Fundamentals-1X. The second year expands into broader biological principles with Core Concepts in Human Biological Sciences 2, Investigating Human Biological Sciences 2, Fundamental Topics in Biology 2, and Microbiology and Immunology 2. The third year advances knowledge through Human Biology and Physiology 3A and Human Biology and Physiology 3B. The fourth year requires Current Topics in Human Biology and Physiology 4X core alongside options such as Cardiovascular Science 4A, Stem Cells 4D, Physical Activity and Public Health 4Y, and Physiological Disorders: Mechanisms and Treatment Challenges 4Y Option, with a choice of a Life Sciences Investigative Honours Project, Life Sciences Outreach Honours Project, Life Sciences Internship Honours Project, or Life Sciences Dissertation Honours Project.
