About this course
BSc/MSci in Mathematics (faster route), a mathematics (faster route) degree covering advanced quantitative methods and analytical principles. Core topics include Statistics and Mathematical Modelling. High-achieving school leavers can complete an Honours degree in three years or an MSci degree in four years. The second year explores core mathematical foundations through modules such as Foundations of Mathematics, Mathematics 2A: Multivariable Calculus, Mathematics 2B: Linear Algebra, and Statistics 2R: Probability. The third year advances into specialised topics including 3H: Analysis of Differentiation and Integration, 3H: Metric Space and Basic Topology, 3H: Mathematical Methods, and 3H: Algebra. Students also undertake the Mathematics Project. Further advanced options cover subjects such as Financial Statistics (STATS4010), Differential Geometry, and Fluid Mechanics.
