About this course

BSc/MSci in Neuroscience, a biomedical science degree focused on the nervous system and physiological interactions across humans and animals. Core topics include Statistics, and Research Methods. The course spans four years and culminates in a choice of final-year projects. The first year introduces foundational biological and chemical concepts through Biology 1A, Biology 1B, Chemistry 1, and Science Fundamentals-1X. The second year expands into broader biological principles via Core Concepts in Human Biological Sciences 2, Investigating Human Biological Sciences 2, and Genes, Molecules & Cells 2. The third year shifts focus towards advanced study with Neuroscience 3A and Neuroscience 3B. The final year involves compulsory study in Contemporary Issues in Neuroscience 4X core and Memory: From Synapses to Systems 4H, alongside investigative or dissertation options such as the Life Sciences Investigative Honours Project and Life Sciences Dissertation Honours Project, plus specialised topics including Neuromodulation & Synaptic Plasticity 4C option and Diseases of the Nervous System 4Y option.
