About this course

MA in Russian, an Economics and Russian Studies degree centred on the study of the Russian language and culture. Core topics include Research Methods. The course includes a compulsory year abroad for language immersion. The first year introduces the language through Russian 1. The second year builds proficiency with Russian Language 2 and Russian Culture 2. The third year is spent abroad on study. The final years advance linguistic and cultural expertise through modules such as Russian Honours Written Language (Junior), Russian Honours Spoken Language (Junior), and Russian Literature and State Power. Students can also select optional subsidiary languages including Czech, Polish, and Portuguese, and complete a Russian Dissertation.
