About this course

MA in Spanish, a politics and international relations and spanish, portuguese and latin american studies degree focused on hispanic language, literature and cultural history. Core topics include Research Methods. The five-year degree incorporates a mandatory year abroad spent undertaking study, work placement or an assistantship. The first year covers language and cultural studies through Spanish Language 1 (Non-Beginners) and Spanish Culture 1 (Non-Beginners). The second year advances linguistic proficiency and thematic study through Spanish Language 2 and Spanish Culture 2. The third year consists of the SPANISH YEAR ABROAD STUDY, SPANISH YEAR ABROAD WORK PLACEMENT and SPANISH YEAR ABROAD ASSISTANTSHIP. Later stages offer extensive option choices across diverse areas such as Catalan 1, Interpreting Skills In Spanish and Mexico: Past, Present And Future. Students conclude the course with a Spanish Dissertation or Applied Dissertation with Placement in Spanish.
